Iceland Covid-19 Travel Information

Summary of Iceland Coronavirus Situation

Last Updated:

10 December, 2020
From 1 December 2020 to 31 January 2021, Covid-19 tests will be free. Since 14 November 2020, travellers returning to the UK from Iceland do not need to quarantine. Since 19 August 2020, those who choose to be tested instead of quarantining upon arrival in Iceland need to undergo test upon arrival and a second Covid-19 test 5-6 days after arrival (even if the first test result was negative) and quarantine until results are received. Arrivals need to pay for the Covid-19 test themselves. If you test positive for Covid-19 or are exposed to an infection during your trip, you will need to self-isolate at a hotel. International non-essential travel restrictions have been lifted to allow visitors from Schengen area countries and the EU from 15 June 2020. Travellers need to fill in a pre-registration form prior to arrival. Travellers are given the choice between a Covid-19 test on arrival, or 14 days quarantine.
